Hi, I'm Hope. I like to bake stuff.
I'm currently a Pastry chef in a 5 star London Hotel.
This blog is a way for me to bake comforting home food that I love as well as being a creative outlet for all of my recipe experiments.
I love how food can create atmosphere, emotion and send you back to memories you thought you'd long forgotten.
A perfect day for me is tottering around my kitchen, getting blobs of butter and scatterings of flour in my hair without a care in the world. And at the end of it, feeding the people I love with delicious food that I love.
So welcome to my little bit of foodie escapism in this big internet world of blogging.

After last weeks failed attempt at getting back in the blogging game, (lets just leave it at a humiliated pastry chef forgetting to add sugar into a carrot cake), I decided to return to the ever comforting and humble side of home … Continue reading

I really believe that you should make the most of your birthday. Whether you’re 1 or 101, it should be a real celebration. I no longer do these one day birthdays, I need to eek it out for as long as possible. Preferably spanning … Continue reading
The warm weather is making me lethargic. It’s making me lay out in the park for hours on end. It’s luring me onto the grass. I lie there, unmoving, with no thoughts or worries apart from the occasional whisper of … Continue reading
About 6 months ago, if anyone told me they were going to make a Pineapple Upside Down Cake, my mind would instantly wander to the 70s: Peace, love, music and big afros. Before recently being reintroduced to the Pineapple Cake; … Continue reading
Every week, me and my friend/colleague are tasked with coming up with three different desserts to put onto the Du Jour menu at work. This is by far, the best part of my job. It’s something I’ve had to earn; … Continue reading
